Tamarind Shrimp Soup

 

Ingredients :

1/4 cup

1/2 tsp

Vegetable oil
Shrimp
Tomato (cut into wedges)
Garlic (chopped)
Water
Pineapple
Taro stem (or celery)
Bean sprout
Straw mushroom

Fish sauce
Sugar
Mint leaves (chopped)
Cilantro leaves (chopped)
Rice paddy herb
Green onions (chopped)
Tamarind
Sea salt

Method :
  1. In a sauce pan, heat oil and add garlic and wait until garlic is brown, add tomato

  2. Stir for a few minutes until tomato is softened and let it simmer for 5 minutes

  3. In a separate pan, bring 5 cups of water to a boil

  4. Pour tomato sauce into the boiling water

  5. Add pineapple, mushrooms, tamarind, salt, sugar, and fish sauce

  6. Bring it to a boil, add shrimps, bean sprouts, and taro stems

  7. Bring it to a boil, then add green onions, mint, cilantro, and rice paddy herbs

  8. Serve immediately
