                                RECIPES OF SINGAPORE

Singapore Beef

 

Ingredients

60 gm

1 cup

Butter
Shallots (sliced)

Cardamom seeds
Blade Steak (cut into 2 1/2 cm cubes)
Water
Curry powder
Onions (sliced)
Garlic (crushed)
Fresh ginger (finely grated)
Beef stock
Salt (adjust to taste)
Coconut milk (450 ml)
Fresh mint leaves (finely chopped)
Tomatoes (peeled and chopped)

Method
  1. Melt butter in a fry pan, add shallots and cardamom, saute for 1 minute, then add beef, stirring constantly until golden brown

  2. Add water, simmer slowly until water evaporates (at least 20 minutes)

  3. Stir in curry powder, onion and garlic, and cook for 2 minutes

  4. Add remaining ingredients, cover, bring to the boil, simmer for 20 minutes or until meat is just tender

  5. Serve with hot fragrant rice
