Taway Kay Kabab (Lamb Kabab)

 

Ingredients

1 lb

1/2 tsp

4 tbsp

1 small

1/2 tsp

1 tsp (heaped)

3 tbsp

Lamb leg (boneless ,chopped into 1/2 inch cubes)

Ginger powder

Oil (ghee or melted butter)

Onion

Garlic powder

Coconut

Almonds

Natural plain yoghurt

Water

Method
  1. Grind the almonds and mix them with the garlic powder, ginger powder and coconut
  2. Add this mixture to the yoghurt and stir it thoroughly
  3. Put cubes of meat in a bowl and pour the mixed yoghurt over it
  4. Leave it for 15 minutes (or more) to marinade
  5. Pour the oil on a wok and spread marinated meat over it
  6. Cut the onion and layer it over the meat
  7. Add 3 tablespoon of water and cover the pan
  8. Leave it to cook for fifteen minutes on a low heat
  9. Take the lid off and stir the meat, put the lid back on and let it cook for further ten minutes
  10. If the meat is golden brown and the oil starts to come out, its ready to be served, otherwise cook it for about five minutes more

Serve with Chutney and Salad
