Potato Cutlets

 

Ingredients

6 medium sized

6 tbsp

2 tsp

2 tbsp

2 tbsp

2 tbsp

6 tbsp

10 stems

Potatoes (washed thoroughly)

Bread crumbs

Salt (adjust to taste)

Garam masala

Coriander powder

Black pepper

Vegetable oil

Fresh cilantro (coriander) leaves  (washed well and finely chopped)

Method
  1. Put potatoes in a large saucepan and fill it with water
  2. Put stove on high heat and boil potatoes until they are soft and tender
  3. Remove from heat, let cool and peel the skin off of the potatoes
  4. Take a large vessel, put the potatoes, salt, garam masala, coriander powder, black pepper and cilantro (coriander) and mash thoroughly (Be sure there are no lumps in the mixture)
  5. Take a handful of mixture in the palm of your hand
  6. Shape it round into a cutlet, like a cookie, (about 2-3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick)
  7. Roll each cutlet lightly on bread crumbs to give it a thin coating and set aside
  8. Put a medium-sized frying pan on the stove and drop 2 tbsp of the vegetable oil on it
  9. Arrange about 4 cutlets on the pan and fry them until they are cooked and golden-brown
  10. Gently turn them over and add 2 more tbsp of oil and fry the other side until it is cooked and golden-brown
  11. Remove from heat and set aside
  12. Repeat the above process for the remaining cutlets
