Payay (Cow Feet)

Ingredients

Cow feet (payay)

Onion (thinly sliced)

Turmeric powder

Corn flour

Red chilli powder (adjust to taste)

Garlic paste

Ginger paste

Garam masala (for garnish)

Green chillies (chopped) (for garnish)

Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) (for garnish)

Ginger (2 inch) (chopped) (for garnish)

Salt (adjust to taste)

Method

Fry sliced onions in oil in a large pot, until they are golden brown
Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, garlic paste, and ginger paste
Fry for 5 minutes (Add a bit water to prevent from burning)
Then add payays and about 8 glasses of water, mix and leave on very low heat to cook and tenderize
When payays are well cooked and soft the oil will surface, then add cornflour to thicken, and constantly stir to avoid any lumps
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, green chillis, and ginger
Sprinkle some garam masala on top for additional spicy taste
Serve with Plain Rice, Naan or Chapati
