Mutton Stew

 

Ingredients

Mutton (cut into small pieces)

Onions (chopped)

Tomatoes (chopped)

Whole dried red chillies

Whole Black Peppers

Cloves

Black cardamoms

White cardamoms

Cinnamon

Bay leaf

Potato (quartered)

Cumin seeds

Coriander powder

Turmeric powder

Garlic paste

Ginger paste

Yogurt

Oil

Green chillies (chopped) (for garnish)

Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) 

Salt (adjust to taste)

Method
  1. Put oil in a heavy pot, add the onions and saute until golden brown-transparent
  2. Add the mutton meat to the onions, and constantly stir until the water dries up
  3. Add all of the ingredients above (Except for the fresh coriander leaves, green chillies and potato)
  4. Mix and saute for a few minutes
  5. Now add enough water so the meat can tenderize
  6. Cover pot and let the meat cook on low heat
  7. Just before the meat is cooked add the potato
  8. When the meat is well tender and cooked, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and chopped green peppers
  9. Mix and remove from heat
