Dhooan Dahi Gosht

 

Ingredients

1/2 kg

8 oz

11/2 cups

2 tsp (heaped)

2 tsp (heaped)

1/2 bunch

A few

Mutton
Onion
Yogurt
Ginger paste
Garlic paste

Mint leaves
Green chillies
Red chillie (powder)
Coriander powder
Oil

Whole green cardamoms

Salt (adjust to taste)

Method
  1. Blend 4 oz onion with a little water and add ginger and garlic paste along with salt, chillie powder and coriander powder and blend well

  2. Mix the blended ingredients with mutton

  3. Add water about 4 to 6 cups and cook until the meat is tender and water dries up

  4. Add oil and fry the meat till it leaves oil on the sides

  5. Beat yogurt with salt and cut the rest of the onion green chillies and mint leaves finely

  6. Prepare a heat proof dish and lay a layer of meat, then yogurt and top with the green masala

  7. Repeat the process till the ingredients are used

  8. Put this dish in the oven and cook for 1/2 hour

  9. Serve hot with chapatis or naan or paratha or idiappam or plain rice
