Sogogi Alssam (Korean Beef Omelet)

 

Ingredients

8

1/4 lb

1

2 cloves

1

1/2 lb

1 tbsp + 1 tsp

Eggs (break in a separate bowl and beat them slightly)
Ground beef
Scallion (chopped)
Garlic (crushed)
Sweet onion (chopped)
Bean sprouts
Sesame oil
Salt (adjust to taste)

Pepper (adjust to taste)

Method
  1. Heat the tbsp sesame oil in a heavy skillet
  2. While browning the ground beef, add the onion and garlic
  3. Cook until onion is clear
  4. Add scallion and bean sprouts last (When the bean sprouts are limp, they are done)
  5. Add salt and pepper
  6. Remove meat mixture from skillet and add to the eggs and mix thoroughly
  7. Heat one tsp sesame oil in a skillet
  8. Add the eggs and meat mixture and make an omelet (Let the egg mixture sit without stirring until the bottom is slightly set but the top is still runny)
  9. With a spatula, turn sections of the eggs over
  10. Continue turning the eggs until the mixture is set on both sides
  11. Remove to a serving platter and cool slightly
  12. Place atop steamed rice and top with catsup or brown gravy poured over the omelet and fried rice
