Sogogi Alssam (Korean Beef Omelet)
Ingredients |

1/4 lb
1
2 cloves
1
1/2 lb
1 tbsp + 1 tsp
|
Eggs
(break in a separate bowl and beat them slightly)
Ground beef
Scallion (chopped)
Garlic (crushed)
Sweet onion (chopped)
Bean sprouts
Sesame oil
Salt (adjust to taste)
Pepper
(adjust to taste) |
Method
- Heat the tbsp sesame oil in a heavy skillet
- While browning
the ground beef, add the onion and garlic
- Cook until onion is clear
- Add scallion and bean sprouts last (When the bean sprouts are limp, they
are done)
- Add salt and pepper
- Remove meat mixture from skillet and add to the eggs
and mix
thoroughly
- Heat one tsp sesame oil in a skillet
- Add the eggs and meat
mixture and make an omelet (Let the egg mixture sit without stirring
until the bottom is slightly set but the top is still runny)
- With a
spatula, turn sections of the eggs over
- Continue turning the eggs until
the mixture is set on both sides
- Remove to a serving platter and cool
slightly
- Place atop steamed rice and top with catsup or brown gravy
poured over the omelet and fried rice
