Dak Jook  (Chicken Porridge)

 

Ingredients

1

4 cloves

10 cups

1 cup

1 tbsp

1 tbsp

Cornish hen

Whole garlic

Water

Rice

Salt (adjust to taste)

Pepper (adjust to taste)

Method
  1. Wash rice and soak in water for more than 2 hours and drain well
  2. In a big pot, place Cornish hen and whole cloves of garlic and let it simmer for 2 hours or until chicken flesh gets loosened
  3. Take out hen, save the chicken stock and tear chicken flesh into thin pieces
  4. Put rice into the pot with chicken stock and boil until cooked well
  5. Stir occasionally with wooden spatula
  6. Add chicken flesh and put salt and pepper
