Dak Jo Lim (Spicy Chicken and Potato Stew)

 

Ingredients

Chicken (wash, drain well and cut up in pieces)

Potatoes (cut in chunks)

Carrots (cut into large pieces)

Onion (sliced)

Green onions (sliced)

Chillies (sliced)

Marinade chicken:

2 tsp

2 tsp

1 tbsp

Salt

Pepper

Cheong joo (sake)

Sauce:

4 tbsp

4 tbsp

2 tbsp

1tbsp

1 tsp

Go choo ga roo (Korean chili powder)

Go choo jang (Korean chili paste)

Minced garlic

Soy sauce

Pepper

Method
  1. Marinade chicken in salt, pepper and cheong joo for 15 minutes

  2. Put chicken in a large pan, cover with water, bring to a boil
    (Add enough water to cook all the vegetables later)

  3. Mix sauce ingredients, and pour over the chicken

  4. Let simmer for about an hour or two until the chicken gets tender

  5. Add potatoes, carrots, and onion, cook for another 20-30 minutes

  6. Add green onions and chillies, and give another minute to finish
