Beuseus Namul (Stir-fried Mushrooms)
 

 

Ingredients

2 oz

1 tbsp

1 tsp

1/4 tsp

2 tbsp

2-3 cloves

1 tsp

Shiitake mushrooms (dried)

Soy sauce

Sesame oil

Sugar

Oil

Garlic (minced)

Sesame seeds (toasted) (optional)

Method
  1. In a bowl, cover the mushrooms with water and soak for 30-60 minutes till fully rehydrated (This will happen faster if you use warm water, but more flavor will leach out)
  2. While the mushrooms are soaking, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar together in a small bowl and set aside
  3. Squeeze the excess water out of the mushrooms, cut off and discard the stems, and slice the caps into strips
  4. Heat the oil in a wok or skillet over high heat
  5. Add the mushrooms and stir fry until they begin to brown
  6. Add the garlic and stir fry another 1-2 minutes
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the sauce well
  8. Remove to a serving bowl and top with the sesame seeds
  9. Serve at room temperature
