Oil
Cinnamon
Cloves
Cardamoms
Onions
Tomatoes (cut into 2 1/2 cm cubes)
Potatoes (peeled and cut into 1 1/2 cm cubes)
Coriander leaves
Ginger
Garlic
Green chillies
Cumin seeds
Grated coconut
Basmati rice
Green peas
Water
Salt (adjust to taste) |
Method
- Grind to a fine paste coriander leaves,
ginger, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds and grated coconut
- Heat oil and ghee in a rice cooker
- Fry the cinnamon, cloves and
cardamoms till aromatic
- Add in the onions and tomatoes and fry till soft
- Add in the potatoes and continue to fry for 2 minutes
- Follow with the
ground paste and continue to fry till the oil emerges on top
- When the gravy thickens, add in the rice, water and salt to taste
and stir
well
- Cover and cook till the rice is done
- Finally add in the green peas and mix well
- Serve hot
