Kashmiri Chicken

Ingredients

2 lbs

Chicken breast (skin removed)

Yoghurt

Onion (ground)

Cashew nut - ground (soak cashew for an hour or more to make grinding easier)

Tomatoes cut into small pieces

Fresh ginger (ground)

Garlic (ground)

Green cardomom (whole)

Cayenne pepper or red chilli powder (adjust to taste)

Sliced almonds

Corn oil

Salt (adjust to taste)

Method
  1. Heat the oil, add the ground onion and stir till rose colored
  2. Add garlic & ginger continue to fry till light brown
  3. Add the cardomom and chicken cook for about 15 - 20 minutes on medium high flame
  4. Add yoghurt, tomatoes and red chilli powder
  5. Keep cooking and stirring constantly for another 20 - 30 minutes or till the chicken is fully cooked and turns brown
  6. Add ground cashew nut and cook for another 3 minutes
  7. Garnish with almond  and slivers

 boil over medium heat
